If your application demands thick walls combined with high load-bearing strength, long-term creep resistance, and chemical inertness, PEEK 990GF30 stands out as the ideal material solution. It is specifically formulated for thick-walled injection molding as well as extrusion profile production.
|In fact,990GF30 is also suitable for thickness 8-15mm,even thicker
Reliable Mold Filling – Although 990GF30 has high melt viscosity, it can still fully fills thick-walled molds, ensuring dense, structurally sound parts.
Superior Load-Bearing Capacity – Compared to faster-flowing GF grades, it withstands significantly higher pressures and maintains PEEK’s excellent chemical resistance.
Excellent Surface Quality – The high-viscosity matrix minimizes sink marks and flash during molding, ensuring a flat surface and consistent, high-quality appearance.
|990GF30 is also suitable for Extrusion of special-shaped parts
In addition to thick-walled injection molding, PEEK 990GF30 is also highly suitable for the extrusion of semi-finished stock shapes such as plate, rod, and thick-walled tube.
This capability is primarily attributed to its high melt viscosity (MVR ≈ 4.5 g/10 min, ISO 1133), which delivers excellent melt strength.
✅During extrusion, the high-viscosity melt provides sufficient structural integrity to resist gravity and internal stress immediately after exiting the die, ensuring the profile maintains its precise cross-sectional geometry without collapse or distortion.
✅Furthermore, the 30% chopped glass fiber reinforcement achieves a homogeneous and stable distribution within the high-viscosity matrix. This not only significantly reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion and molding shrinkage but also effectively suppresses warpage during the slow cooling of thick sections.
As a result, PEEK 990GF30 is the ideal choice for producing large-dimension, high-precision GF30 profiles, which can subsequently be machined into critical components such as valve plates, flanges, and insulating spacers.
