PEEK GF30 rods High-Temperature Resistant And High-rigidity

PEEK GF30 rods are engineered to excel in applications requiring maximum dimensional stability under load. By incorporating 30% glass fibers, the material achieves a flexural modulus of 11 GPa, providing the stiffness necessary to support significant weight without deformation.

Unlike unreinforced PEEK, which may exhibit creep under sustained pressure, the glass fiber reinforcement locks the polymer structure in place. This results in exceptional high static load capacity, ensuring that components such as support brackets, insulating mounts, and structural frames remain stable even at elevated temperatures (HDT up to 328°C).

PEEK GF30 Rods – 30% Glass Fiber Reinforced High-Strength

High Strength PEEK GF30 rod

PEEK GF30 Rods are high-performance, 30% glass fiber reinforced semicrystalline thermoplastic plastic rods. They combine PEEK’s outstanding chemical resistance and high-temperature capability with significantly improved stiffness, dimensional stability, and load-bearing capacity—making them ideal for precision CNC machining of structural components.

PEEK GF30 Rods Core Advantages

The most important advantages of PEEK GF30 rods is Maintains exceptional creep resistance and dimensional stability under elevated temperatures and sustained static loads.

High Rigidity & Load Capacity

Unreinforced PEEK flexural modulus is 4.1GPa,after Glass fiber reinforced, flexural modulus increases to 11.3 GPa(Test Standard:ISO 178),It is almost 3 times of PEEK resin. And flexural strength Increases from 165 MPa to 265 MPa, It is an ideal material for metal replacement in structural components, enabling lightweighting while maintaining exceptional structural integrity.

Dimensional Stability

PEEK GF30 Rods offer exceptional dimensional stability: ultra-low extrusion shrinkage (~1/3 that of neat PEEK) minimizes warpage, while a metal-comparable CTE (~22 ppm/K) ensures tight tolerances under thermal cycling. With near-zero moisture uptake and superior high-temperature creep resistance (<0.8% strain at 250°C), they are ideal for machining precision, load-bearing parts that replace metal—even in humid or extreme heat environments.

⚙️ Precision CNC Machinable

Excellent CNC Machinability: Eliminates nylon-like tool clogging, high rigidity ensures stable cutting, minimal burrs, and supplier-validated suitability for micro-machining.
Micron-Level Precision: Near-aluminum CTE (~22 ppm/K, vs. ~47 ppm/K for neat PEEK) minimizes thermal drift; delivers ±0.01–0.02 mm tolerances post-annealing.

Chemical & Hydrolysis Resistance

Performs reliably in hydrocarbons, acids, and high-pressure steam environments up to 250°C.

CNC Machining Guidelines for PEEK GF30 Rods

Due to the addition of glass fibers, PEEK GF30 is more abrasive than unfilled PEEK. Follow these guidelines for optimal results:

  • Tooling: Use sharp tungsten carbide or polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tools to resist abrasion.

  • Coolant: Recommended (water-soluble coolant). It reduces heat, extends tool life, and flushes away glass dust.

  • Cutting Speed: Medium to high cutting speeds are recommended to achieve clean chip formation.

  • Dust Management: Glass fiber dust is abrasive. Use proper extraction systems to protect equipment and operators.

  • Tolerances: Allow for slight spring-back; account for the CTE (22 ppm/K) in high-precision assemblies.

FAQs – PEEK GF30 Rods

Q1: What are the main benefits of PEEK GF30 rods compared to unfilled PEEK?
PEEK GF30 rods offer significantly higher stiffness (11.3 GPa flexural modulus), better dimensional stability, and reduced thermal expansion—ideal for high-precision, high-load applications where rigidity is critical.
Q2: Is PEEK GF30 rods suitable for high-temperature steam environments?
Yes. PEEK GF30 rods performs reliably at 250°C continuous service and resists hydrolysis, making it suitable for steam valves, pump components, and sterilizable parts in demanding industrial settings.
Q3: Can PEEK GF30 rods be CNC machined to tight tolerances?

Absolutely. Its low thermal expansion and predictable machining behavior enable tight-tolerance components with excellent repeatability, provided appropriate tooling and cooling are used.

Q4: Does the glass fiber reinforcement affect wear performance?
Glass fibers improve load-bearing capability but can increase abrasive wear against soft counterfaces. For sliding or wear-critical parts, PEEK CF30 (Carbon Fiber) is generally preferred due to its superior wear resistance and self-lubricating properties.
Q5: Will PEEK GF30 shed glass fibers during machining or use?
When machined correctly with sharp tools and proper dust extraction, fiber shedding is minimal. However, for ultra-clean environments like semiconductor cleanrooms, we recommend PEEK CF30 or ESD PEEK, which produce less particulate than glass-filled grades.
