All PPSU rods are precision-extruded to standard stock lengths of 1000mm and 3000mm, with a full diameter range from Ø5mm to Ø250mm and tight h11/h13 dimensional tolerances for roundness and straightness.
⚠️ Standard Cutting Allowance: We reserve a 3mm universal machining allowance on all saw-cut PPSU rod blanks. This ensures sufficient material for final CNC turning/milling to achieve your required finished dimensions without stress-induced deformation. For diameters exceeding 150mm, a 4mm allowance is recommended to account for additional thermal expansion during machining.
All stock shapes are supplied ready for dry machining or air-cooled cutting—never use liquid coolants during sawing or CNC processing to avoid stress cracking.
Pre-Treatment: Dry at 140–160°C for 4–6h (max. moisture 0.02%) prior to machining. Stress-relieve annealed stock at 120–150°C for 2–4h, then cool slowly to prevent post-machining cracking.
Cutting Data: Turning speed 100–200 m/min; feed 0.1–0.2 mm/r (rough) / 0.05–0.1 mm/r (finish); depth of cut 0.5–2.0 mm (rough) / 0.1–0.5 mm (finish). Use uncoated fine-grain carbide (ISO K10–K20) with 0–5° rake, 6–8° clearance, and nose radius ≥0.5mm.
Execution: Dry cut or compressed-air cooling only—never liquid coolant. Support workpieces with steady rests for L/D >10. Post-machine anneal at 120–150°C for 2–4h to relieve residual stress.
